These thoughts are based on those of a friend who texted a thought for the day thoughout Lent 2017. I kept them, thinking to make use of them at some point. Looking at them now, some of them seem to be fitting reflections for the lockdown, so here’s the first one I’ve chosen to share.

Jesus said that there are three things which last and that the greatest of these is love.
Love is the greatest action but it doesn’t always bring the greatest feelings. It can bring sadness, jealousy or loneliness, as well as deep joy. It’s not all fluffy and rainbows and easy choices. Love can be unreciprocated or unwanted. Love can be insanely hard when someone you love has hurt you deeply. In this time of isolation, let’s remember all those we truly love, those we are trying to love, and the perfect love of our amazing God.
